Riddle 1:   I go into the water red and come out black.   Who am I?

Riddle 2 :  I make up all literature, but I'm often sealed.  Who am I?

Riddle 3:  There are three jars full of equal amounts quarters, dimes, and penny's. Which one has the highest value?


Riddle 4:  Christmas and New Year's Day occur exactly one week apart. So a New Year's that occurs right after Christmas should be on the same day of the week. But in the year 2020 Christmas will occur on a Friday and New Year's on a Wednesday.   Why is this?

Riddle 5:   What two letters can spell the word candy?

Riddle 6I am a nice word composed of five letters, but the Romans would call me a numbers.

In 2020 New Year's occurs on January 1st, 2020 and Christmas on December 25th, 2020. These dates are 51 weeks and 2 days apart, not one week apart (during the year New Year's occurs before Christmas).

Maths Riddles -1 for Children

Riddles are always a great way to have fun with friends as well as to kill time.  Here are some easy maths riddles which will be teasing your brains.  These riddles are provided with answers are of different levels of difficulty and require some amount of concentration and logical reasoning to crack them.  So read these maths riddles and enjoy...

Riddle 1:   How can you add eight 8's to get the number 1,000? (only use addition) 

Riddle 2 :  What weighs more - a pound of iron or a pound of feathers?

Riddle 3 :  Two fathers and two sons sat down to eat eggs for breakfast. They ate exactly three eggs, each person had an egg. The riddle is for you to explain how?

Riddle 4 :  How many eggs can you put in an empty basket one foot in diameter?

Riddle 5 :  I am an odd number; take away an alphabet and I become even. What number am I?

Riddle 6 :  If you have 6 black socks, 4 blue socks, 8 brown socks, and 2 red socks in your sock drawer, what is the minimum number of socks that you need to pull out in the dark to be sure you had a matching pair?

Riddle 7 :   Are you good at maths?  Complete the sequence : 1=3, 2=3, 3=5, 4=4, 5=4, 6=3, 7=5, 8=5,  9=4, 10=3, 11=?  12=?

Riddle 9 :  A frog fell into a hole that was 14½ feet deep. He could jump 3 feet, but he slid back a foot each time he jumped. How many jumps does it take him to get out of the hole?

Riddle 10 :   Suppose there are 10 apples in  a basket with you.  Your 10 friends want those apples.  You give one apple to each one of them, yet one apple remains in the basket, how is it possible?

Answer 1 :  Here is the answer to get 1000 by adding eight 8's. -->   888 +88 +8 +8 +8 =1,000

Answer 2 :  Both would weigh the same - this is because a pound remains a pound, irrespective of the object!

Answer 3 :   One of the 'fathers' is also a grandfather. Therefore the other father is both a son and a father to the grandson.    In other words, the one father is both a son and a father. 

Answer 4 : You can put only one egg into an empty basket,  because after that the basket is not empty any more!

Answer 57 (SEVEN-S=EVEN)

Answer 6 :  You should pull out at least 5 socks so that at least one color has two socks!!

Answer 7 :  Answer is 6. That is the number of letters in the spelling of each number!

Answer 8 :  1 ( one).  This is because when 1 = 5, naturally 5 = 1.

Answer 9 :  Every 3 feet jump is followed by a 1 foot slide, so it is equal to 2 feet high jumps each;  At this rate, he needs 7 jumps to come out of the hole.

Answer 10:  It is very simple,  you give 9 apples to 9 friends and give the last apple to your 10th friend along with the basket!  So 1 apple still remains in the basket.

Spinning Dancer Illusion


The Spinning Dancer illusion is a bistable illusion where you can see the dancer move both clockwise and anti clockwise.  This illusion is erroneously used as brain test to determine whether right or left hemisphere is dominant.  If you close either left or right and observe the other two images, you can see both of them rotating in one of the directions.
